Scale Staffel – Flying Aces Club Squadron 41 - was founded in the mid-1970’s by enthusiastic free-flight rubber scale model builders. The founding members include Walt Mooney, Clarence Mather, Bob Peck and John Hutchison. Eventually, the enthusiasm grew to include all aspects of free-flight scale models.
WESTFAC (Western Region Flying Aces Club) is the western division of the national organization of the Flying Aces Club. Created in 2005 by members of the San Diego Scale Staffel.
Silent Electric Flyers of San Diego promotes and the technology of electric powered R/C aeromodeling.
